Different Sections of the Gállego River for Rafting

The Gállego River flows through the autonomous community of Aragon, specifically in Huesca. As one of the main tributaries of the Ebro River, it stretches 193.2 km. Rafting is one of the key activities here. Check out all the available options.
The route begins in the Tena Valley, passing through the towns of Sallent de Gállego, Panticosa, and Biescas, cutting through the pre-Pyrenean sierras at the Foz de Santa Elena.

The most popular rafting sections, frequented by enthusiasts, are Murillo de Gállego and Santa Eulalia de Gállego. The classic rafting route spans 11 kilometres with moderate difficulty, running from the De La Peña reservoir dam to Murillo de Gállego. This descent features thrilling rapids and rocky chaos, creating numerous technical passages. Along the way, you’ll encounter waves and rollers for added fun.

First Section: "Wave Passage"

This is where the river section begins for those daring enough to tackle it. An easy stretch that prepares you for the daunting second section. Starting in Murillo de Gállego and ending at the Santa Eulalia bridge, it covers 7 km.

Second Section: "The Funnel"

The river’s most challenging stretch, featuring numerous siphons to heighten the excitement. It’s the riskiest for participants but also the most anticipated. Rated Level II, it runs from the Carcavilla Power Station to Murillo de Gállego, spanning 8 km.

Third Section: "The Steps"

One of the river’s most famous and celebrated sections—a stair-like descent requiring caution to avoid capsizing. Great fun for kids. This 10-km, Level III stretch starts at the Pantonode Dam and ends in Murillo de Gállego.

An easy passage to the right or left. The remaining route to Murillo is straightforward and perfect for enjoying with friends.
