There’s a large kart buying/selling market, but you don’t necessarily need to own one to hit the track! Just visit one of the many karting circuits across France. And don’t worry—this sport is suitable for everyone!

Here are the different categories of competitive karting:
- KF1 previously FA (Formula A)
- KF2 previously ICA (Intercontinental A)
- KF3 previously ICA-Junior (ICA-J)
- KF4 designated as "Basic" or "Essential" category
- KZ1 previously Super-ICC
- KZ2 previously ICC (Intercontinental C)
Two types of karts are used in competition:
- 125 CC engine kart, two-stroke, without a gearbox.
- KZ single-cylinder engine kart, with a gearbox.
