One week sailing & holiday for under 18s

At the Sailing Club of the famous Catanzaro town, your children will be able to take advantage of this fabulous offer and spend a wonderful holiday dedicated to the sport of sailing, optionally in the months of May, June >, September or October.

During the course week, you will stay in furnished apartments shared with other guests. The apartments are located in the town of Soverato which is also full of entertainment opportunities.

The basic course starts on board the Tridente 16' dinghy, agile and perfect even for beginners, and will continue with the Laser Standard, while for more experienced subjects the FIV 555.

Free attendance of the club structure is also granted to all participants and their families.

The holiday is aimed at boys and girls aged 14 to 18 years old.

Attending the course and passing it will allow the child to access the course intended for adults.

For this course there is a service from Lamezia Terme airport to the city of Soverato and vice versa with a companion.

The children will be assisted by qualified personnel throughout their stay on site, both during activities and in their free time.

Basic course requirements for beginners:

• The age indicated is a fundamental requirement
• ability to swim,
• be in good health,
• personal neoprene wetsuit (recommended).

The boats used for the course are:

• Laser, two-seater dinghies
• FIV555,
• Trident 16,
• Meteor M8.

Thestay, as mentioned, will take place in apartment-rooms, each with 2 or 3 beds or, alternatively, in a farmhouse.

The under 18 sailing course consists of a minimum of 5/6 hours each day, divided between the theoretical part in the classroom and the practical part on the boat. Both parts are managed by qualified instructors, who will help the kids not only in their technical preparation but also in the internalization of a culture and ethics of respect and knowledge of the marine environment.

Your kids will be constantly assisted, even during their free time, outside of the course, in order to help the group socialize, in fact, many fun activities will be organized to enjoy together.

For those who are totally new to sailing, the first experiences will be carried out on small and fun, easy to handle boatsallow you to have fun straight away without too much effort. The days will be organized in the name of fun, with lots of games and swimming and life at the center will be organized in full "seafaring" spirit, providing each participant with an active part in their days, both in the activities on board (such as rigging and dismantling or management of the boat) as in those of social coexistence (setting and clearing the table, tidying up etc).

Necessary and recommended material: Comfortable tennis shoes and possibly a pair of light trekking boots, to protect yourself from the water a light raincoat or, alternatively, a k-way, to protect yourself from the sun a hat , a pair of protective glasses and sun cream, for the night, a pillowcase and your choice of bed linen with blanket or a sleeping bag.

Typical program of the days (which could be subject to changes and variations due to weather conditions):

• 9.00 am - everyone is ready for a breakfast together
• 9.30 am - briefing with and theory lessons
• 10.00 am - preparation of the boats for the course
• 10.30am - start of activities on board, practical exercises
• 1.00 pm - lunch
• 2.30 pm - resumption of exercises
• 5.00pm - disarmament and disembarkation
• 5.30pm - debriefing
• 6.00 pm - free time on the beach
• 7.00 pm - return for shower and to prepare for dinner (8.00 pm).
• After dinner with activities all together and overnight stay around 10.30pm.

The holiday & sailing week will take place from Monday morning up to and including Friday afternoon. The option indicated here concerns the complete itinerary, the whole week with food and accommodation and activities from 9.30 am on Monday until 5.30 pm on Friday (arrival at the venue on Sunday evening).

For those who want distinct options, on request, it will be possible to take the daily course (without overnight stay) or semi-daily course.
