Welcome to RYA Powerboating Level 1 in Swansea! This course will go on for a day to have a fundamental overview of powerboating. Allow yourself to experience something you have never before!
The course content includes:
- Setting up the boat
- Boat control at low and high speeds
- Docking next to and on a buoy
- Taking off and landing from a trailer
- Fundamental driving laws and safety
Our fully qualified instructors will provide you with a briefing and introduction, including the necessary equipment. After that, we will get suited up and head out onto the water to spend the majority of the day on the boat!
No prior training or expertise is necessary as this is a particularly fantastic introduction to powerboating. It is also an excellent session for young people or those who prefer a shorter sampler session.
The course is extremely hands-on; there are only a maximum of 3 participants to ensure that you have plenty of time to learn. You will be able to gain new skills in this training!

2-Day RYA Powerboating Level 2 in Swansea
Deal overview
During the day with your instructor, you will discuss the following subjects:
- Handling the boat
- Launching and recovering
- Both departing and following
- Fastening to a buoy
- Anchoring
- Person overboard
The course's shore-based portion will go over different types of craft, their advantages and disadvantages, motors and drive, using power tilt and trim tabs, security precautions, personal buoyancy, and taking into account other water users.
Furthermore, it also includes implementing the collision regulations (IRPCS), local ordinances, towing and being towed, interaction with other ships, emergency response, distress indications, fire fighting and safety measures, and using ropes.
Our qualified instructors will provide you with a safety briefing and the necessary equipment (life jackets and waterproofs). Moreover, we can only accommodate up to 3 people per session because this includes many practical lessons.
Please remember that to acquire the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, participants must bring a passport photo. We cannot award your certificate if you do not have a photo on hand.
