MTB tour from Chiconquiaco to Actopan 5 hours

Mountain biking is an extreme sport that requires a high physical and technical level to be carried out. If you think you are capable, come to Xalapa to discover natural wonders in nearby towns by traveling 74 kilometers (approximately 5 hours) of this region with a group of athletes like you. The only thing you will have to bring is your bicycle and protective equipment, which we will provide on the route and the best guides.

Everything begins and ends in the capital of the state of Veracruz: Xalapa. From there we will travel in one of our vans to Chiconquiaco. We will begin the ride where a good part of this section is up and down the mountain; The landscapes are truly spectacular. We will appreciate the valleys, farms, cows, sheep, goats... an isolated part of Veracruz. It's like looking into a fractal and discovering that there is a whole world there.

After this first section of slopes, there is a dizzying descent to Los Naranjos. At some point the road stops being paved and begins to be gravel which makes the descent exciting. Careful: It is easy to go out of a curve if you do not calculate the braking well.

From Los Naranjos to El Huérfano is a relatively short climb, but steep and difficult. The road is made of a kind of ash or very fine dirt, with pieces of gravel and the tires do not have good traction, climbing on the saddle from start to finish is the challenge of the route. At some points along the way there are caves where fresh, clean water comes out, ideal for soaking a bandana and cooling your head.

We will continue El Escalanar, with a very fast descent on the same fine dirt and gravel.The mountain rises to about 1750 meters above sea level. Then begins a long and fast descent to Madroño. We will continue pedaling towards La Reforma, a very long descent and the road is quite straight, but it is made of irregular and sharp gravel.

From La Reforma, there is a paved road, in good condition, that descends little by little to the Cempoala River and crosses it. It is a stretch to enjoy in which you can accelerate to your liking; It is the type of road with an ideal slope to put a higher ratio and give it pleasure or let the bike roll on its own.

After crossing the river there is a small climb to the junction with the road that goes to Actopan. There, after taking a short walk around the town, we arrived at a restaurant, and now we were going to eat some delicious seafood. Already replenished with food and water, we loaded the bicycles in thetrucks and we begin the return to Xalapa.
