Deal overview
Take part in an excursion along the Nera river, following the course of the ancient Terni - Ferentillo tramway: you will travel a route of approximately 38 kilometres, of medium difficulty, starting from Arrone and crossing the territories of Montefranco and Ferentillo, arriving at the medieval village of Scheggino.
Your day will begin at theExcursion Center - Cycling School, where there will be a short introductory theoretical course: you will be explained how to use the mountain bike > and you will be given some information about the itinerary and, once finished, you will be ready to leave!
You will walk along the left bank of the Nera river for about an hour and a half, thus arriving at the central square of Scheggino: it will be possible to rest, recover your energy and visit this delightful medieval village for then set off again towards Arrone, following the course of the Nera river.
At this point, for the more experienced bikers there will be the possibility of making a detour, taking the climb to Umbriano: 1.5 km of climb with gradients of bumpy terrain, locally known as the core tear and, once the stretch of road is finished, you can visit the ghost town of Umbriano and its ancient castle and then proceed downstream, while the rest of the group will follow the normal return route to the Excursion Center.
Once you return you will be able to take advantage of a cooling down session and then choose where to have lunch: there are some restaurants in the area or you can choose the homemade basket, prepared by a homemade basket strong>local food and containing 2 tasty sandwiches with fresh cold cuts, a drink and fruit!
