This 10 km descent takes around 2 hours 30 minutes. This is a course by medium water which is very easy to do. The whole family is therefore welcome to enjoy it! The kayak is a very simple boat to handle, even if it is your first experience, we are sure that you will handle it like a pro.
You can enjoy kayak one or two places. It's up to you to choose what you prefer: autonomous navigation in solo or a moment for two on the surface of the water.
This kayak ride is an incredible chance to discover the surroundings of the Dordogne river. The castle trail leaves from the base of Cénac-et-Saint-Julien 1 hour 15 minutes from Villeneuve-sur-Lot. We are waiting for you there!
You will encounter small currents and small difficulties in low water which will spice up your itinerary. This unique trail has many surprises in store for you:
- You will follow the Roque-Gageac, a small village between the shore and the cliffs similar to a film set.
- The castle of Castelnaud will also stand on your path.
- Admire the Château de Fayrac in a wooded landscape from the watercourse.
- You will also come across the Château de Beynac hoisted on its high cliff.
- You can venture under the Cenac, Castelnaud and Vézac bridges and admire them from the river. li>
Your water walk will end at Beynac right bank on a pretty little beach.
Good to know:
- You must know how to swim 25 m and submerge yourself.
- The course is accessible from 5 years old.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied.
- Bring closed shoes and something to protect yourself from the sun.
- If you wear glasses, you will need to tie them.

We invite you to experience a 12 km kayak descent through magnificent landscapes. The route is easy and the kayak is a very simple boat to use. Even if you've never done one, you'll get the hang of it in no time and you'll be comfortable very quickly.
The course is therefore accessible to everyone from the age of five. Children under 12 must still be accompanied. We therefore have single-seater kayak or two-seater. You can make your choice on site! Do you prefer to sail independently or share a moment with someone dear to you? It's up to you!
Theitinerarywe have in store for you will leave you speechless. You will cross the imposing cliffs which border the Dordogne. The spectacular Caudon Cliff will stand in your way. You will also have the chance to venture into the Cingle de Montfort and discover its superb castle and its clear rocks. The Vitrac Bridge will also be on your route, you will be able to see it from closer, and even pass under it.
To enjoy this incredible kayak ride, you will need to be able to swim at least 25 m and submerge yourself. Remember to take something to protect yourself from the sun as well as a cord to attach your glasses.
When you arrive at our center, our team will share with you the safety instructions to follow once on the water. You will then be able to discover your boat, collect the equipment and get on board.
Your departure will take place from the Carsac-Aillac base, 1 hour from Cahors. You will sail on the Dordogne to the left bank of Cénac where the time will come to set foot on land. A shuttle will take you back to the starting point where you can collect your belongings.

Join us for a twenty-two kilometer hike by kayak on the Dordogne River... The route will be simple with few difficulties. Although small currents and some rocks are to be expected, you will be guided by the instructor, who will also give you the basics and safety rules that must be adopted in strong>kayak.
This kayak trip will be an opportunity to surround you with steep cliffs and the village of Roque Gageac, and to immerse yourself in a green and picturesque rural environment. Beyond working your muscles while sailing on the waters of the Dordogne, you will pass multiple typical sites of the Dordogne including the Arch Bridge of Cénac-et-Saint-Julien or the medieval castles of Montfort, Beynac and Castelnaud!
A waterproof container will be provided to you on board the kayak to store your belongings: you can in particular place your picnic and your sunscreen! Also don’t forget to bring a pair of sports shoes.
The walk of approximately five hours will end in Beynac, from where you will be taken by shuttle back to the starting point on the base of Carsac-Aillac, which will be an opportunity to debrief the outing by sharing your impressions with the group.
