Excursion to Lake of the Rocks 8 August

Our excursion proposal heads to the Lago delle Rocce, a little-frequented and in fact semi-unknown destination, but of evocative beauty for the hiker who comes to discover this wonder of the Alps, nestled among the peaks of the Orco Valley.

We will start from the Lake Serrù below, in the Valle dell'Orco.
We will undertake a route that crosses, with a wooden bridge, the underlying water basin, which is nothing more than an artificial lake created thanks to the construction of a dam.
The route winds along dirt paths, typical of the Alpine area in which we find ourselves.
We will admire one-of-a-kind views and, if lucky, even animals such as ibex or chamois.
We will also visit an old military site dating back to the world wars.

For those who feel brave, once they arrive at the lake, they can continue on terrain made difficult by the rocks, to reach the Punta delle Rocce.
Here you can admire an exceptional and breathtaking panorama, reaching up to a CAI cross.

We obviously recommend dressing with trekking boots and clothes suitable for the activity you will be carrying out.
For those who wish, you can bring water, food (real packed lunch) and a backpack.
