The path of the Madonie firs (4h)
General information
Deal overview
The almost extinct centuries-old tree of the Abies Nebrodensis has practically only 30 specimens which are found only in the Madonie park. The excursion in which you can participate will allow you to walk along a path where you can find these practically extinct species of trees which, after the discovery of the last specimens, have been subjected to protection constraints.
Walking along the path we will enter a beech forest in which we will be surprised by ancient disused charcoal pits, buildings symbolizing anancient profession that hiking guides will be able to describe you in the best way.
Let's give some technical details of the excursion. It will take place for four hourswith a length ofabout 9 kilometers with a maximum altitude of 1637 meters and with a difference in altitude from the height starting point ofabout 200 metres.
To participate in this excursion we recommend wearing comfortable materials that allow movement such as long trousers and sneakers, as well as a sufficient quantity of water.
