The excursion will start from Petralia Sottana where we will visit the Gorgonero pond, rich in native natural species such as violets, primroses, cyclamens, anemones and cedars while in the adjacent woods you can walk among chestnut, pine and holly trees in an absolutely uncontaminated environment.
Continuing the excursion you will arrive at Pizzo Catarineci, the last hill of the Madonie complex, in which there is a large grassy plain with numerous springs. After a few hundred meters we will arrive at Vallone Scopalacqua where we can refresh ourselves with the fresh spring water.
The culmination of the walk will be at Piano Catarineci where you will find before your eyes a green expanse populated by varioushorses that live in the state wild. From here we will embark on the return route with departure scheduled for around 3pm.
We recommend the use of comfortable material and sneakers so as not to limit movement.
