We will be waiting for you in Plaza de España at 11:00 to go to the Escorial. Together with the experienced guide you will prepare to spend a total of approximately 5 hours of excursion to get to know both the monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial like the Valley of the Fallen.
The monastery is one of the emblematic monuments of Madrid, built in the era of greatest splendor of the Spanish Monarchy; specifically at the time of the reign of Philip II. This architectural wonder, which is considered the eighth wonder of the world, is made up of more than 33 thousand square meters, where in its Inside you can find secrets, treasures and spectacular gardens.
Named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, this monastery consists of different areas that you will enjoy during this guided tour such as the pantheon of the Infant Kings , the Great Library, the Basilica and the residential area.
Once we have visited the Escorial monastery, we will take a break for lunch and regain strength to continue the guided tour to the Valley of the Fallen. It is a complex where the largest Christian cross in the world is located and built by the head of state of that time, Francisco Franco. It was built after the Spanish Civil War, to commemorate the victims.
At the end, we will return to the starting point in the city of Madrid. A total of 5 hours where you will visit El Escorial, its monastery, the Valley of the Fallen and its 150 meter high cross.
