During the 1920s and 1930s there were a series of historical events in Spanish politics such as the dictatorship of General Primo de Rivera, which discredited the monarchy of Alfonso XIII.

Subsequently, after the proclamation of the Second Republic in 1931, a serious division between Spaniards gave way that would end up leading to the military uprising of July 17, 1936 and which began the Spanish Civil War.

Throughout this guided tour of troubled Madrid, students learn about the causes and details that led Spain to a bloody Civil War between 1936 and 1939, emphasizing what society was like, what the ways of life were and how the war developed while they traveled along the Madrid front line.
