The Royal Monastery of El Escorial was built with the purpose of housing monks, but they decided to build a palace to house the king. The guide will begin in the Patio de Reyes, as this is the main door of the monastery. Later you will continue to the Basilica, which is considered a master of Renaissance architecture.
One of the points of interest of this basilica is that it is built in granite ashlar in which the cenotaphs of Charles V and Philip II stand out.
