We run guided tours on The Mall that take in Buckingham Palace, St James’ Park and, that cornerstone of British Royal tradition, the Changing of the Guard. What more could you ask for?
The meeting point is Carlton House Terrace at the eastern end of The Mall (nearest Trafalgar Square) and walk towards Buckingham Palace, passing Horse Guards Parade, St James’s Palace and St James’s Park.
We’ll arrive at Buckingham Palace and watch the full ceremony. We know the best vantage points that give the best views while avoiding the crowds. Be sure to bring your camera to capture a spectacle with 600 years of history. The guards’ uniforms with the iconic bearskin hats, the marching and turning and sometimes mounted guards, these are iconic images that you can’t miss.
The tour group will be led by an expert guide who uses a microphone. Each participant will be equipped with a headset so that you won’t miss a word of their intriguing commentary.
The whole experience lasts around 90 minutes. You’ll have a smile on your face for the duration - but the guard’s won’t!
