Did you know that Lisbon has one of the most incredible best collections of floats and carriages in the world?
Once you enter the Two Cars Museum, you will be able to see the traveling carriage of Philip II and the carriages that were part of the Portuguese embassy.
You will also discover the carriage in which Charles I was murdered and the royal carriages with which the nobility of Portugal and different courts of Europe traveled.
The museum was inaugurated in 1905 as the National Museum of Cars in Belém, Lisbon, and has gone through many changes to become the museum it is today. It was formerly the riding arena of the Belém Palace until the decision of Queen Amelia of Orleans to transform it for the exhibition of royal carriages.
We have different exhibition rooms, both permanent and temporary, and a beautiful garden where you can stroll quietly and enjoy the birds singing.
