In Portugal, near the Serra de Estrela natural park is one of the most important mining reserves in the country. It is an abandoned mining operation that came to life at the end of the sixties, more than 50 years ago.
Quinta da Minas da Recheira was famous for its exploitation and extraction of tin and tungsten and now, it has been converted into a large-scale museum where visitors will learn everything about the work of their ancestors .
This visit has both a scientific and educational purpose, suitable for anyone curious to see what is hidden behind the mine caves. You will enter the reserve, surrounded by an unbeatable natural landscape, and you will visit the mining interpretation center, in addition to visiting one of these galleries full of history.
For 1 hour, a guide will accompany you and explain in detail every hidden corner in this old mining exploitation. We will give you the necessary equipment (vest and helmet) and you will take a souvenir at the end of the visit so that you never forget how incredible it is to visit the inside of a mine.
Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes, history is waiting for you in the Serra de Estrela to show you how the Portuguese miners lived and worked in this mining exploitation, as beautiful as it is dangerous for those who dedicated their efforts to extracting their minerals.
