Deal overview
This is a tour lasting approximately three hours that will take you to discover the most hidden secrets of the city, and its thousand-year history which has made it one of the most evocative places in our country.
Precisely because we want everyone to interact and feel involved in the activity, we prefer to have a limit of 15 participants per visit and it will be carried out with a minimum of 4 people. The meeting point will be Piazza Vittorio Veneto and from here the rich itinerary will unfold which will have as stops the beautiful Belvedere from which you can admire the entire city in its magnificence, then you will visit the Civita district in the heart of Matera.
The price of the tour also includes entry to the beautiful cathedral, the first cave house and one of the numerous rock churches scattered around the city. The church of the Madonna dell'Idris is the best known precisely because it still retains most of the frescoes.
If the cathedral is busy for religious functions, the visit will not be carried out.
Matera is also known by the name of city of stones precisely because of its particular configuration: it was in fact built carved into the rock. The descent into the stones will take you through the many alleys that form a real labyrinth. This peculiarity has meant that it has become the capital of culture of 2019.
