Are you up for the challenge? If you are over ten years old, we invite people of all experiences to grab a headlamp and put on their best climbing shoes because this 'climb the mine' caving experience will entertain you and test you in many ways.
You will experience a unique thrill exploring one of the very few operational slate mines in the UK; Honister slate mine is located beneath the beautiful mountains of the Lake District. Your heart will be racing as you climb to the surface with the help of expert instructors who know their way around this dark and mysterious terrain.
As you descend deep into the mine, you'll be given all the necessary safety equipment, including ropes and harnesses, to ensure you can climb confidently. And with your trusty instructor by your side, you'll feel like a pro in no time. But don't let the darkness and tight spaces scare you; this is where the fun really begins! You'll have to use all your strength, skill, and agility to navigate the rocky and uneven terrain as you make your way to the top.
As you climb higher and higher, the sense of achievement and satisfaction will be overwhelming. And when you finally emerge from the depths of the mine, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
