Ghyll scrambling at Honiston ghyll is a three-hour adventure for all the family, filled with non-stop action, including exciting rock, climbs both big and small, thrilling jumps into plunge pools, and so many other challenges throughout this journey.
You may be unfamiliar with the word ghyll; it is simply the Cumbrian word for a mountain stream, and scrambling is the ultimate way to explore the streams of Cumbria through one of the Lake Districts' most historic scrambling locations; while not the oldest, many adventurers have scrambled and explored these waters for over 25 years.
Like any exhilarating expedition to a new and intriguing area, you need an expert guide to lead you through the many stunning natural sights and past a range of challenges, so you feel at ease following one of our experienced, qualified guides who will make every effort to optimise your experience and ensure safety is a massive priority on an adventure that is a real favourite for children over 6.
We deliver a safety briefing and complete provision of the best equipment to maintain our customers' safety, including a wetsuit, buoyancy aid if required, a helmet, neoprene socks and a spray jacket.
We will meet at the bottom of the Honister Pass, a 20min drive from our activity centre in Keswick.
