Description of Furnas Lagoa Das São Miguel 2h30 Canoeing Route
If you will discover the Azores soon, it is a nature lover and wants to discover all the secrets of the Furnas Valley on the island of São Miguel , you can not lose this canoe tour you will pad through a volcanic crater for 2 hours and a half . It seems exciting, right?
In order to participate in this canoeing course it is essential to bring bath, water, some food, aquatic shoes (slippers, slippers ...), towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes. Dry for later. It is also more than advisable to bring an impermeable backpack to keep your belongings protected from water.
The meeting point for this activity will be in our facilities, behind the parking park that will find at Furnas Lagoa . Before starting this canoe tour, the instructor will give a briefing explaining the itinerary and giving some instructions to the group.
Firstly, you will meet one of the craters of the volcano that once shaped the island. Then you will cross across the lake to see one of the region's classic chapels in the new 19th century Gothic style. To finish the canoe route we will go close to the coast to the point where we can enjoy the smoke.
As a recommendation, you should not leave the Furnas without proving the Portuguese cooked , a typical dish of its gastronomy based on vegetables, meat and rice. You will love it!

Description of Piragua route through Furnas with transportation 3h
The Azores are a true natural paradise located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Without a doubt, an adventure awaits you that will excite you. You can enjoy a fun canoe route through the large lagoon of the sleeping volcano of Furnas. You will have about two and a half hours to visit the valley canyon, a hermitage, see the fumaroles...Of course, don't forget to come with a swimsuit and bring sunscreen, appropriate footwear for getting wet, water and something to eat. It would be a good idea to bring some type of zip-lock bag or backpack to store phones and other valuables that cannot get wet.
The meeting point will be confirmed along with the time you choose at the time of booking. From there you will all go together to Furnas, to the east of the island. On the way we will pass through Vila Franca do Campo, the municipality with the most history in São Miguel.
During this canoe route you will paddle through the waters that cover the old Furnas volcano, currently inactive but which still makes its presence known through the fumaroles. At the end of the activity you will be able to see these spectacular columns of steam and gases that emanate from the depths of the earth.
Of course you will have to spend more time in Ponta Delgada, the capital of the archipelago, but the Terra Nostra Garden of Furnas is a must-see during your stay on the island. You already have plans for when you finish this canoe route.
