4-Seat Plane Trial Flight, Elstree Aerodrome 40min

Do you want to know how it feels to soar through the skies?

This is your chance! We operate trial lessons at Elstree Aerodrome. Located within the M25, these flights allow you to look down on London and the home counties - including cars stuck in traffic on the ring-road - whilst controlling an aeroplane.

You can choose to have a flight in a 4-seat aircraft and take some passengers with you, provided the combined weight of the participants doesn’t exceed the limits of the plane. It will be a Cessna 172 or a Piper Warrior.

Of course, there will also be a pilot present. They will act as your flight instructor, briefing you on the safety and mechanics of the aircraft before taxiing to the runway and taking off.

You will enjoy a flight of 40 minutes, in which the instructor will let you pilot the plane, under their instruction. Don’t worry, you won’t be responsible for landing!

It’s never too late to be a pilot for a day. Book one of our trial lessons and experience the joys of flight under the guidance of an experienced flight instructor.

They’ll welcome you to Elstree Aerodrome, Borehamwood, run through the basics of safety and flight theory, then take off. When you’re going steady, you can take control of the flight, using the aeroplane’s controls.

This experience takes place in a Cessna 172 or a Piper Warrior. Both are 4-seat aircraft, so 2 more people can join you in the cockpit. Height and weight information for each participant will have to be provided in advance.

With 1 hour in the air, you’ll get plenty of flying time and see plenty of spectacular vistas. From Elstree, the sprawl of London extends to the south. In the other direction is the green and pleasant land of Hertfordshire.
