There are numerous water sports, ranging from simple and relaxing boat excursions to more dynamic ones like Hydrospeed. This is a sport that delivers incredible sensations and strong adrenaline rushes throughout the entire course. This whitewater sport, practised since the mid-80s, has seen a steadily growing number of enthusiasts.

Fun in group

But what exactly is Hydrospeed? It's quite simple - you just need the right equipment and let yourself be carried by the river current on a floating bob.

What do you need to practise it? A strong desire to have fun, of course! It's important to choose Hydrospeed companies that rent out the equipment: neoprene wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid and fins. The aquatic bob ensures flotation, and the correct position is lying prone with your torso on it as you descend the river. In any case, it's important to be a good swimmer, as this is a sport with direct contact with water.

You can tackle routes of different difficulty levels, marked along the river course. When the snowmelt peaks (between March and April), the water flows with greater force, making the river a highly dynamic and adrenaline-filled terrain. For the less adventurous, it's better to wait until late spring when the water is calmer and safer.

A guide will accompany you as you progress down the river and can assist you if needed.

Tips for practising Hydrospeed:

  • It's crucial that the neoprene wetsuit is adequate, as hypothermia can occur during the activity.
  • Never let go of the bob as it's essential for flotation. If you fall off, the buoyancy aid will prevent you from sinking.
  • Even though the bob is individual, it's best to gather a group of friends - it'll be more fun and safer!
  • Eat properly a few hours before the activity to ensure you have sufficient energy reserves.

Practising adventure sports is far more exciting than staying at home. Spring opens the door to a wide variety of active tourism options, and hydrospeed is certainly one activity you shouldn't miss!
