If you're unsure what to do next July, we suggest enjoying active tourism in Barcelona, as the city offers diverse options, each more exciting than the last.

From 6th July onwards, you'll have the chance to experience one of the most significant hot air balloon events, with Globus Kon-Tiki being one of the organising companies.

Igualada hosts the European Balloon Festival for the fifteenth time, where over 40 balloons, both national and international, will perform competitive and display flights.

European Balloning Festival 2011

Visitors can witness displays, concerts, night flights with illuminated balloons, fireworks... Everything is set for non-stop entertainment, as the Anoia Tourism Showcase will also highlight all the activities available in the area.

This gathering is the most important in our country and highly regarded across Europe. Over 25,000 spectators will witness the pilots' manoeuvres. Are you going to miss out?

If you attend, don't miss the chance to assist in inflating a hot air balloon - a truly unique experience. Flights take place at dawn or dusk when weather conditions are optimal: no air currents to disrupt the journey.

But can you actually fly during the competition? Absolutely! Simply book your flight and let your pilot take you up on your chosen day between 6th and 10th July. Special prices are available for these dates if you book now. Don't delay - places are limited!

Participate in the inflation of hot air balloons

Hot air ballooning in Barcelona will create lifelong memories, so we recommend going for it. Moreover, if you're celebrating a special occasion (birthdays, anniversaries), it makes the perfect gift - not only will it amaze them, but photos and videos will provide lasting mementos.

What else can you do? Are you into photography? If you're skilled with a camera, you can enter a competition by submitting Festival snapshots, either of balloon flights or the general atmosphere. Six prizes range from €225 to €60 (plus trophies), with a free flight also being raffled among all participants.
